Our Speaker of the Month:

John Mulville

John is a graduate of University of California, Irvine and holds a Designation in Light Construction / Development Management (LCDM) from the National Association of Homebuilders.  John has been active in the Institute of Residential Marketing (IRM).  John held a California General Real Estate Appraisal license for 25 years.

John joined Metrostudy in 2015 with the acquisition of Real Estate Economics.  The acquisition of Real Estate Economics allowed the companies to vastly broaden their research platforms and to combine their complimentary databases and consulting practices.  The collective goal is to promote the intelligent and successful development of real estate throughout the United States through an effective understanding and forecasting of the economic cycle.  These efforts have allowed landowners, builders and developers to drive value into their holdings through improvements in product segmentation, concept designs, the use of family oriented and age qualified housing prototypes. Metrostudy also uses their proprietary Land Plan Optimization modeling to identify the ideal product templates for the competitive setting and recognized demographic trends that generate the highest possible land value for owners and sponsors.

John serves an elite clientele of builders, land owners, land developers and equity partners.  Market research and analysis has recently been contracted with D.R. Horton, Lennar, Tri Pointe Homes, Beazer Homes, Edenbridge Homes, Brandywine Homes and Taylor Morrison Homes.  Development clients include Lehman Brothers, Highpointe Communities, Eli Development, City Ventures, DMB, CV Communities, Lehigh-Hanson, PLC Land, LStar Management, Province Group, Mountain Real Estate Capital, the Encore Housing Opportunity Fund and Summit Land Company.  Real Estate Economics’ also assists the land brokerage community by maximizing the potential of their listed properties though concise product recommendations and segmentation.  Our brokerage clients include Hoffman Company, Province West and Land Advisors.

Beginning as a residential appraiser in 1985, John has served as a commercial/industrial and subdivision appraiser for Home Fed Bank in Newport Beach, then as a member of Bank of America’s Subdivision and Land Development Specialty Unit.  John was a Principal in the firm Land and Housing Analysts before joining Real Estate Economics in 2005.  John has served as Vice President and Director of Consulting Real Estate Economics before joining Metrostudy as Regional Director in Southern California.
