Travel Demand Management and Limited Parking Initiatives

Presented By: John Kain

John Kain is a transportation planning consultant who came out of UCI in the 70’s with BA and MS degrees, and quickly became involved in the circulation plans and impact analyses for several major So. Cal. planned communities. He and three other partners started Urban Crossroads Inc in 2000, a technical firm focusing on traffic, noise and air quality studies. John is currently involved in technical studies for Great Park Neighborhoods in Irvine as well as many infill projects and “edge” development plans.

John is particularly skilled at the integration of traffic projections with meaningful designs that improve elements of the built environment and expand our mobility choices. His 40 years of professional experience include plans for new communities, City General Plan mobility elements, regional and local funding programs, station area designs for transit services, and implementation of “complete streets” strategies. Mr. Kain is also a Fellow in the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
